EHS Projects environmental consultancy service is a growing team of Sheffield based but nationally operating consultants. The office is close to Ecclesall Road in Sheffield with easy access to the city centre, local parks and the Peak District. All Consultants work from this communal office space except for when visiting client sites. Purpose
We are seeking to appoint a Sheffield based Environmental Consultant or Senior Environmental Consultant to expand our team. It is essential for applicants to have professional experience in environmental consultancy, a regulatory role or company role in environment, health and safety. A technical background, particularly in auditing, carbon/energy data management or environmental permitting would be highly advantageous. We take pride in meeting our clients on site and understanding their businesses on the ground. All of our consultants must have the means to travel within the UK (access to a vehicle) and must be prepared to spend nights away for work.
Key Accountabilities
You will:
* Always be engaged with our wider team of environmental, health & safety consultants and our associates to support across our operations.
* Visit lots of different clients undertaking a range of manufacturing and engineering activities to complete audits of environmental legal compliance or of their management systems.
* Complete technical environmental assessments working with environmental data related to water, ground, waste, and air pollution risk.
* Provide and advise and support to our clients to help them gain the necessary environmental permits and authorisations to undertake their activities, meet legal expectations and manage environmental risk.
* Support our clients to develop and achieve sustainability objectives.
* Utilise and develop commercial and leadership skills to support the growth of EHS Projects and to, with time, become a mentor and leader within the business.
* Foster relationships and partnerships with the people and business that are our current client, and to gain new clients.
Key Competencies:
* Relevant experience (one+ years) in environmental consultancy, regulatory or a professional EHS role.
* Hold an Environmental, Geography, Geology or other STEM related degree.
* Strong organisational, time management, and project management skills.
* Fully proficient in Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
* A clean UK driving licence.
* Access to a car and willingness to travel (within the UK and Ireland).
Desirable Experience:
* Environmental or EHS auditing.
* Work or knowledge of Environmental Permitting or similar authorisations.
* Technical assessments of environmental risk.
* Developing environmental management systems.
* Working with energy and carbon data, or low carbon agenda projects.
