The Role
You will be responsible for the design and development of mechanisms, machine systems and complete special purpose machines.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing new machine systems, mechanisms, and components
* Modifying and improving existing machine designs to meet customer requirements
* Working on machine tool design, tooling, and automated systems
* Supporting manufacturing and assembly during machine build and commissioning
* Producing detailed CAD models and engineering drawings
* Managing BOMs and part releases via SAP
* Conducting design reviews, DFMEA and PFMEA
* Supporting technical bids and customer-facing documentation
Requirements
* Special purpose machinery (SPM)
* Bespoke automated machines / production systems
* Strong background in mechanism and machine design (not just static components)
* Proven experience designing moving assemblies and complex systems
* Ability to work across the full machine lifecycle
* HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* 3D CAD experience (Siemens NX - advantageous)
* Experience with manufacturing processes and assembly support
* Familiarity with DFMEA / PFMEA / design reviews
