Site Supervisor – SEN School (Primary & Secondary)
Location: Haslingden
Hours: Monday – Friday, approx. 9:00am – 6:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
A welcoming and inclusive Primary and Secondary SEN School in Haslingden is seeking a Site Supervisor to take responsibility for the maintenance, security, and general upkeep of the school premises.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Security & Safety
* Unlock and secure the school premises at the beginning and end of the day
* Monitor site access and ensure the site is secure at all times
* Respond to alarms and attend call-outs as needed
* Carry out regular health and safety checks (e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting, playground safety)
Maintenance & Repairs
* Undertake minor repairs and general maintenance (e.g. plumbing, painting, basic carpentry)
* Oversee and liaise with external contractors for major repairs or planned works
* Ensure heating, lighting and water systems are operational and reported when faulty
* Carry out routine inspections to identify issues and resolve them promptly
Cleaning & Site Presentation
* Support the cleaning team when necessary to maintain high standards of hygiene
* Ensure external areas (playgrounds, paths, car parks) are clean and safe
* Manage waste disposal, including recycling and skip collection
* Keep storage areas clean, tidy, and secure
Health & Safety Compliance
* Maintain site logs, risk assessments, COSHH records and statutory compliance checks
* Ensure all tools, equipment, and chemicals are used and stored safely
* Support the school’s safeguarding procedures and report any concerns appropriately
Requirements:
* Experience in a similar premises or maintenance role (school setting desirable)
* Basic maintenance and DIY skills
* Understanding of health and safety regulations
* Good communication and problem-solving skills
* Reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently
* A flexible approach to tasks and working hours
* An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is essential
