The Role
As a Senior Vehicle Technician, you will play a key role within the workshop, handling complex diagnostics and repairs while maintaining the high standards expected of an RAC Approved Garage.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out advanced servicing, maintenance, and repairs on petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles
* Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and EV-related faults using advanced diagnostic equipment
* Work on systems including engines, timing components, clutches, gearboxes, suspension, brakes, ADAS, and high-voltage systems (where trained)
* Ensure all work complies with manufacturer guidelines, RAC Approved Garage standards, and internal quality procedures
* Complete vehicle health checks and safety inspections
* Accurately document work completed, parts used, and time recorded
* Support and mentor junior technicians when required
* Liaise with service advisors and workshop control to ensure smooth workflow
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
* Keep skills up to date with EV, hybrid, and emerging vehicle technologies
* Provide a professional, customer-focused approach when required
About You
* Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
* Proven experience as a Senior or Diagnostic Technician
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
* EV/Hybrid experience or qualifications preferred (training available)
* MOT Tester licence desirable but not essential
* High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Full UK driving licence
