Location: Cheltenham, UK (On-site)

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a skilled Welder to join our Engineered Systems Manufacturing Unit (ESMU) team in Cheltenham. In this hands-on role, you’ll carry out TIG/MIG production welding and a variety of fabrication tasks to deliver high-quality output that meets customer demand. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, working from engineering drawings and standard operating procedures to produce precision work on carbon and stainless steel pipework and pressure vessels.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…

1. Performing positional MIG/TIG & MMA welds to a high standard on carbon and stainless steel.
2. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and weld procedures.
3. Operating shop floor machinery and overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
4. Carrying out fabrication tasks including plasma cutting, grinding, drilling, and marking out.
5. Meeting daily work plans and efficiency targets, including operational bookings.
6. Maintaining strict adherence to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policies.
7. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing ideas.
8. Demonstrating flexibility by supporting other duties as required.
9. Driving your own personal development and aligning with company core values.

Your previous experience is likely to include….

10. Proven welding experience in MIG/TIG & MMA processes on both carbon and stainless steel.
11. Working in a production environment with basic computer literacy.
12. Experience with plasma cutting and fabrication from engineering drawings.
13. Understanding of your commercial impact within a manufacturing setting.
14. Familiarity with pressure vessels and positional pipework (desirable).
15. Time-served welding and fabrication apprenticeship (preferred).
16. Coded to ASME IX (desirable).
