Production Engineer Electrical Manufacturing Location: Wigan, Skelmersdale, Ormskirk, Kirkby, Saint Helens, Prescot, Hindley, Golborne, Lowton, Billinge, Burscough Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year (depending on experience) 5% annual bonus Hours: Onsite, Monday to Friday We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer specialising in the design, development and manufacture of high-quality electrical equipment. We are looking for a Production Engineer to join their Production Engineering team. This is a great opportunity for candidates from an electrical or electronics manufacturing background to apply their skills to support and improve production processes. Role Overview: The Production Engineer will help ensure the smooth running of the manufacturing process for electrical test and measurement products. You will support new product introductions, improve existing production lines, and work with design, quality, and production teams to maintain high standards and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement new or improved manufacturing processes; apply lean manufacturing techniques; maintain production documentation such as BOMs and work instructions. Support new product launches, conduct DFM/DFT reviews, and ensure smooth handover from engineering to production. Investigate and solve manufacturing quality issues; implement corrective actions; design and maintain jigs, fixtures, and test equipment. Work with design, quality and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues; manage engineering change requests; train production staff. Carry out scheduled maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns; support general facility systems and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards. Skills & Experience Required: ONC/HNC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Experience in production engineering in electrical or electronics manufacturing Strong diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical or mechatronic systems Basic soldering skills and ESD awareness Hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Whats on Offer: Competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience 5% annual bonus Monday to Friday onsite working Supportive teams Training and development opportunities If you are a self-driven, technically skilled production engineer from an electrical or electronics background, we would love to hear from you.
