Role Purpose
Based in our Leeds office, the role is for an RICS Qualified Surveying position to lead our Building Surveying team, undertaking professional and project work for a combination of private investment companies, institutions and corporate clients. The practice areas include building surveys for investment and occupation purposes, dilapidations for landlords and tenants, lead consultancy & contract administration, refurbishment works, maintenance advice (PPM) and licences to alter.
Key Responsibilities
 * Take responsibility for the management of client and projects to deliver building surveying services profitably and on time.
 * Deliver projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision, meeting project objectives in accordance with company policies.
 * Lead consultancy & contract administration.
 * Prepare specifications and schedules of work, drafting of standard contract forms.
 * Collate project documentation, defect analysis and drafting of schedule of dilapidations, negotiating on behalf of landlord & tenant.
 * Prepare planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.
 * Provide technical review of tenant works for the purposes of licences to alter.
 * Look for opportunities to bring and build value, delivering client solutions that exceed expectations.
 * Contribute positively to the Group and Building Surveying business plan and assist in achieving its objectives.
 * Build and lead teams delivering client advice, with appropriate mix of experience, skills and commerciality.
 * Comply with CBRE’s policies and management system and work within Quality Management Procedures.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
 * MRICS qualified with at least 8 years relevant post‑qualification commercial surveying experience.
 * Good appreciation of professional and project‑based building surveying matters.
 * Good communication and interpersonal skills.
 * Ability to lead and work as part of a team, supporting colleagues.
 * Ability to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a project.
 * Professional, knowledgeable persona and business acumen.
 * Build, develop and maintain existing business and client relationships.
 * Organise and prioritise tasks to meet agreed time frames.
 * Provide concise and clear written communication.
 * Comprehensive understanding of the local and wider property market and CBRE’s services.
 * Able to contribute to business development activities.
 * Able to plan and manage own workload; delegate while maintaining accountability and ensuring delivery.
 * Computer literate including Word, Excel and ideally MS Project.
 * Driving licence.
