Job Title: CNC Machinist - Milling
Location: Stockport
Hours: 40 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
Friday: 07:00 - 13:00
Role Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Stockport. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining components to technical drawings and specifications, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in line with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC milling machines.
* Manufacture components from engineering drawings, following company quality procedures.
* Self-inspection of completed work to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Perform general and preventative maintenance checks on machinery.
* Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation at all times.
Competencies Required
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
* Competence in editing and proving out CNC programs.
* Proficient in using measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers.
* Strong understanding of geometrical tolerances.
* High attention to detail.
* Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Performance Expectations
* Consistently produce components to the required standards within agreed timescales.
* Maintain excellent housekeeping and contribute to the 5S program.
* Demonstrate excellent timekeeping and attendance.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience operating CNC machines.
* Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification is essential.
* Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred but not essential.
* Experience with Fanuc controls is advantageous.
