If your current role feels like endless drawings, slow sign-off, and very little say in what actually gets built, this will feel different.
This is a hands-on mechanical design role where your work doesn’t disappear into a system. You’ll design it, see it made, test it, improve it and move on to the next problem.
What’s different here
This business designs and manufactures its own pressure, vacuum and gas flow instrumentation in-house. Mechanical, electronic and production teams work closely. Decisions are made quickly. Engineers see the consequences of their designs, good and bad.
The work is varied. Bespoke projects alongside core products. Applications that end up in Aerospace, Automotive & More. You’re trusted to engineer solutions, not just follow instructions.
The reality of the role
* Mechanical design from concept through to manufacture
* SolidWorks design of components, assemblies and pneumatic systems
* Working directly with electronics and production to make designs buildable
* Applying FEA, FMEA and analysis where it genuinely adds value
* Owning projects end-to-end once you’re up to speed
This suits someone who likes practical engineering and taking responsibility, not over-engineered processes or endless rework loops.
What’s on offer
* £35k - £40k dependant on your experience.
* Stakeholder pension
* Private healthcare
* Semi-flexible working hours
* Clean, well-equipped workshops and a stable engineering team
Who this suits
* Mechanical Design Engineers with 2+ years experience
* Strong SolidWorks capability
* Background in machinery, pneumatics or engineered products
* Comfortable working across disciplines
* HNC minimum (degree preferred), but ability matters more than theory
If you enjoy seeing things built, fixing real problems, and having a say in how designs are delivered, this will suit you.
