Job Overview
Key member of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Education Team, responsible for strategic and operational delivery of high‑quality education, training and professional development for clinical and non‑clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable to the EOC Senior Manager for implementation and delivery of the EOC education plan, providing leadership and strategic direction in design, execution and evaluation of initiatives.
- Ensure quality, compliance and effectiveness of professional education and training programmes, supporting continuous learning across the EOC.
- Collaborate with clinical governance and management teams to develop assessment and mentoring opportunities that enhance patient care quality and clinical outcomes.
- Provide specialist educational support to EOC clinical hub colleagues, promoting dissemination of learning and facilitating ongoing professional development in partnership with Clinical Education Developers and Senior Clinical Advisors.
- Lead and manage delivery of high‑quality clinical education, support CPD, ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Manage a team of education professionals, driving performance and alignment with organisational goals.
- Contribute to national policy development, educational governance compliance and performance monitoring.
- Maintain professional registration, clinical credibility and Tactical Commander competency, participate in on‑call rota.
- Oversee assessment processes, act as course director and support learners in complex cases.
Main Duties
- Lead the development of bespoke training for clinical hub staff, including remote and rotational clinicians.
- Co‑ordinate with senior operational managers to meet training needs and advise leadership on statutory, mandatory and vocational education.
- Act as deputy to the Head of Education when required.
Person Specification (Qualifications & Experience)
- Degree level (Stage 6) in a relevant health‑care related field.
- HCPC registered Paramedic and/or Registered Nurse.
- Portfolio of CPD evidence showing commitment to personal development.
- L4 Teaching Qualification or willingness to work towards.
- L3 Assessing Qualification or willingness to work towards.
- Quality Assurance Qualification or willingness to work towards.
- Minimum two years of experience working in an emergency or urgent care setting, with at least two years post‑registration.
- Band 7 Senior Clinical Advisor track.
