Mobile ElectricianOffer ID:86138Contract type:PermanentSchedule:Full-TimeCountry:United KingdomEquans is looking for a Mobile Electrician to join our team on the North Lanarkshire Schools contract based from Bellshill, ML4 3NJ. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and in addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.You will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance across school premises, including classrooms, offices, plant rooms, and external areas. Your work will ensure a safe, efficient, and fully compliant electrical environment that supports a secure learning atmosphere.You will collaborate closely with the Facilities Manager, school staff, and other service providers to schedule work around school operations and respond promptly to emergencies. As this role operates within an educational setting, adherence to safeguarding, child protection, and PVG requirements is essential, together with maintaining professional conduct on school sites.Working hours: 1pm - 9pmWhat will you deliver?Perform electrical installations, modifications, and repairs within school buildings and facilitiesMaintain lighting, small power, distribution boards, containment systems, and related equipmentSupport emergency lighting, access control, and other critical life-safety systems maintenance and testingDiagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs promptly to minimise disruptionConduct reactive tasks and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) according to schedules and contract requirementsCarry out and record electrical testing, inspections, and issue certificates and reports as requiredPlan works in coordination with Facilities Manager, Technical Operations Manager, and helpdesk to minimise impact on lessons and school eventsProvide clear, timely updates on job progress, risks, and timelinesLiaise with subcontractors and multi-trade teams for proper job sequencing and quality deliveryRespond quickly to emergencies such as power failures and equipment faults within agreed response timesParticipate in out-of-hours call-out rota – 1 in 9What can we offer you?On offer is a competitive salary and in addition you will receive an excellent benefits package, which includes;24 days annual leave (+ public holidays)Life Cover equivalent to 1.5 times annual salaryEmployee discount shopping schemes on major brands and retailersGym membership discountsCycle to work schemeHoliday purchase scheme2 corporate social responsibility days per yearBroad range of learning opportunities, such as professional qualifications,collective/individual training, and personalized support programmesAttractive Employee Referral Rewards SchemeAccess to our growing employee networks including WiE (Women in Equans), RISE (BAME), LGBTQI+, Working Parents, YPN (Young Persons Network) and our Disability Network24/7 Employee Assistance Program and access to mental wellbeing appWho are we looking for?NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical InstallationCity & Guilds 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification or willingness to gain within an agreed timeframeExperience as an electrician within facilities management, building services, or similar sectorsExperience in PFI contracts, education sector, or multi-site estates is an advantageKnowledge of school/public-sector electrical systems, including life-safety systemsValid CSCS/ECS or equivalent site safety card as requiredSound understanding of health & safety legislation and permit-to-work systemsProficient user of IT systems; experience with CAFM or mobile work management toolsParticipation in on-call rotas, shifts, or weekend work as necessaryFull UK driving licenceWho are we?In the UK & Ireland, Equans is a provider of sustainable facilities management and regeneration, and cutting-edge energy and digital services.
