Overview
Property/Evidence Management Support role in Criminal Justice Department, Dyfed Powys Police.
Location: Headquarters. Salary: £24,675 - £26,106. Hours: 37 per week. Contract: Permanent. Role Type: Police Staff. Hybrid/Fixed/Fixed Operational (Fixed). Welsh language level required: 1. Interview Date: 02 December 2025. Closing Date: 13/11/2025, 23:55.
What you will be doing
Use PMS/Niche and bar-coding equipment to record, audit, move, review and store all property/evidence and crime exhibits, including large quantities of high value drugs, cash and firearms, ensuring the evidential integrity of items required for any part of the prosecution. Travel to any force location to move property/evidence and ensure the current location of each item is updated and accurate within PMS/Niche to maintain a full audit trail of movements. Ensure the security and integrity of each item during transit so the continuity of evidence is preserved for any subsequent prosecutions.
During the review process, using information from the officer in the case and knowledge of relevant policies and legislation, determine whether to retain, return to owner or dispose. Following the decision, use the most appropriate route complying with Property/Evidence Management working practices and Health and Safety requirements. This will ensure the property/evidence management store continues to have sufficient capacity to meet the business need.
