One of my local government clients is seeking a dedicated Procurement and Contract Officer to support housing needs, particularly within the private rented sector (PRS). This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of Part 7 of the Housing Act and experience with property acquisition for temporary accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:

Procure and manage contracts for temporary housing solutions.
*
Work within housing legislation, including Part 7 – Homelessness duties.
*
Source private rented properties across London in line with council needs.
*
Coordinate with landlords, agents, and internal departments.
*
Maintain strong records and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
Ideal Candidate:
*
Knowledge/experience of Part 7 – Housing Act 1996.
*
Background in housing procurement, particularly in PRS.
*
Strong communication and organisational skills.
*
Local authority or public sector experience preferred.
