Job Overview
Trainee Gas Engineer – Locations: Epsom, Mitcham, Sutton, Wimbledon, Kingston, Wandsworth, Brixton.
Salary: £31.7k per annum (increase to £35.2k upon successful completion of probationary period). Once qualified your earning potential increases with additionally paid standby & overtime. Start date: September 2026.

Responsibilities
- Support engineers on site and learn from them daily during gas service and mains repair activities.
- Excavate, dig in the public & private highways, lay and repair gas pipes, working in various outdoor environments safely and as part of a team.
- Participate in essential works to keep gas supply running to millions of people year‑round, including standby and overtime opportunities for irregular hours.
- Maintain SGN vans and tools before and after each job, ensuring the team has all equipment to work safely and efficiently.

- Holds a valid UK driver’s licence: Essential for this role.
- Locational requirement: Must be based within a commutable distance of the desired locations.
