Are you ready to take the next step in your commercial career? Kier Construction is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the North East. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-value construction projects while developing your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Location: Newcastle, Durham
Hours: Full Time, Permanent
Responsibilities
* As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial management of projects that may range from £10M - £100+.
* Under the guidance of a Senior Quantity Surveyor, help manage costs, assess financial viability, and ensure value for money while maintaining compliance with legal and contractual standards.
* Assist in financial assessment and reporting of projects.
* Support procurement activities and evaluate subcontractor returns.
* Manage applications for payment and conduct on-site measurements.
* Produce commercial reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
* Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
Qualifications
* Degree in Quantity Surveying
* Some level of post-graduation experience in a main contracting environment
* Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
* Strong communication skills and confidence in stakeholder engagement
* Full UK Driving Licence
