Manufacturing Supervisor – £55,000 – Stockport We’re partnering with a well-established engineering and defence manufacturer who are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to lead production operations at their Stockport facility. This permanent position offers the opportunity to make a real impact by ensuring high-quality products are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You’ll foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement, while setting the standard for performance across the shop floor. Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet output, quality, and cost objectives Drive and embed continuous improvement initiatives across production and team performance Take responsibility for health, safety, and environmental compliance in line with company standards Plan resources, manage shift coverage, and support cross-functional deployment when required Deliver daily briefings and maintain KPI boards (SQCDP) to track performance Monitor production progress, addressing issues and implementing corrective actions where needed Support team development through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training Maintain workplace standards, compliance, and audit readiness Ensure quality management systems and manufacturing processes are consistently applied Candidate Requirements: Degree or HND in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage risk in production settings Background in aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors desirable Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities SAP/MRP experience advantageous IOSH or NEBOSH certification preferred Proficient in MS Office applications This is a hands-on leadership role offering long-term stability, development opportunities, and the chance to shape production performance.
