Packaging Design Engineering focuses on designing and developing product packaging (e.g., boxes, cartons, bottles, plastic wraps and other containers) including:
* Designing and constructing new packaging or improvements to existing packaging; testing, analysing, and selecting materials for packaging based on durability and cost effectiveness.
* Supporting and participating in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes.
* Designing process(s) to manufacture packaging; overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of packaging machinery, systems, and processes to ensure optimal performance.
* Designing quality assurance/control processes and procedures into packaging design which may include compliance with specific technical and regulatory standards related to product packaging.
