Our Client, Salford Council, is seeking a Team Manager to join their Children's Team.

Responsibilities of this role:
* Lead and manage the Referral & Assessment Team, ensuring effective screening, decision-making, and allocation of incoming referrals in line with safeguarding thresholds.
* Oversee the delivery of timely, high-quality statutory assessments (e.g. Section 17/47), ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and local procedures.
* Provide strong leadership, supervision, and support to social workers, including case direction, performance management, and professional development.
* Maintain oversight of complex and high-risk cases, ensuring appropriate safeguarding actions and plans are implemented.
* Monitor team performance against key targets (timescales, caseloads, quality standards), driving continuous improvement.
* Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners (police, health, education) to ensure coordinated responses to safeguarding concerns.
* Ensure robust risk assessment and decision-making processes, escalating concerns where necessary.
* Contribute to audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes to maintain high practice standards.
* Prepare reports and provide updates to senior leadership on performance, risks, and service delivery.
* Promote a culture of reflective practice, accountability, and child/adult-centred outcomes.
Requirements of this role:
* Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
* Must have a Social Work qualification (Diploma in social work, social work degree or equivalent)
* Must have minimum of 3 years’ Post Qualifying Experience
