Our client is seeking a candidate to work as the Head of their Court of Protection department and join their team in Birkenhead Merseyside on a hybrid basis.
The ideal candidate for the Head of Court of Protection will ideally have the below Skills and Experience
• Admitted solicitor or legal executive or equivalent.
• At least 8 years’ experience of conduct of deputyship files
• Good knowledge of law relevant to Deputyship and Court of Protection requirements
• Competent in the use of Microsoft word and outlook
• Experience of meeting deadlines with a minimum of supervision
• Direct contact with clients, face-to-face and over the phone
• Ability to provide informal guidance to junior staff as required.
• Having conduct of trauma led deputyship cases
• Working with electronic case management systems
• Working with trade unions
• Knowledge of statutory duties relevant to Court of Protection and deputyship files
Job purpose:
• To be responsible for the professional lead, legal training, and supervision of the Court of Protection team (professional deputyship and trusteeship) and delivery of a professional service by the teams to external and internal clients.
• To achieve required operational, financial and client service performance standards.
• To fully contribute to overall successful departmental and firm performance, effective business development and case intake.
