This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospital pharmacist seeking to utilise and strengthen their leadership skills. This post-holder will join the two existing Clinical Pharmacy Managers in providing leadership and management to the expanding clinical pharmacy team at South Tees Hospitals, to deliver the Trust-wide clinical pharmacy strategy.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist with excellent clinical pharmacy, leadership, and management skills. Experience in a team management role in a hospital setting at a Band 8a level or above is essential (please see the Job description and/or person specification for further details). Excellent teamwork skills are a priority and will contribute to the development of clinical pharmacy services, quality improvement, and innovation within the department, driven by your initiative and enthusiasm. You will also need to be able to work autonomously and effectively contribute to the priorities of the pharmacy leadership team.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for developing and managing the provision of a coordinated and comprehensive clinical pharmacy service for designated collaborative within the organisation, to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines.
The clinical specialities that the successful candidate will oversee will be negotiated based on the candidate's previous experience and competence. There are opportunities to manage a range of services across various specialities, including acute and general medicine, neurology, cardiology, women's & children's health, surgery, trauma &orthopaedics, and critical care. The overall clinical pharmacy service is divided among the team of three clinical pharmacy managers.
The post involves managing and supervising the duties of senior and specialist pharmacists, pre and post registration foundation pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure we are compliant with national guidance and recommendations of our auditors.

Essential criteria
1. Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
2. Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
3. Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent relevant postgraduate clinical qualification
4. Pharmacist independent prescribing accreditation
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Wealth of experience in clinical pharmacy within a hospital setting
6. Staff leadership and management experience
7. Experience in mentorship and training for other staff
8. Experience of providing directorate level pharmacist services budgetary reports, drug usage reviews
9. Developments of protocols and policies
10. Experience of developing strong professional relationships with other healthcare professionals
11. Experience of leading and contributing to relevant research, audit and service improvement projects
Knowledge

12. Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to clinical practice
