Higher Level Teaching Assistants x2 (Part-time)

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and welcoming school community? We are seeking two committed HLTA’s to join our dedicated team and contribute to the continued success of our pupils.

As a part-time HLTA, you will:

* Support teaching and learning across a range of subjects and age groups
* Lead small group and 1:1 support sessions
* Assist in planning and assessing pupil progress
* Work collaboratively with a dedicated and friendly staff team

Moorhill Primary School has a welcoming and highly dedicated team, committed to working in partnership with parents and the school community. We want children to enjoy and excel in their learning and achieve their potential in all areas of school life. Academic achievement is important, as is achievement in music, sport and the arts.

Shaw Education Trust is a thriving group of diverse and growing schools including Primary, Secondary and Special Schools all working together to improve the lives of young people in our communities. We are sponsored by Shaw Trust, a charity organisation that focuses on transforming lives. We’re a growing group of dynamically innovative academies providing education to children of all ages and abilities. Staff across our team of schools are dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to be successful, regardless of their starting point in life.

We believe that everyone has the potential to be extraordinary!

To this end, our growing number of Primary schools within the trust tirelessly pursue excellence through research-based collaboration and innovation. Our developing, Trust-wide, 3D Primary curriculum and pioneering Digital Strategy are designed to create inspirational, energetic and immersive learning experiences. These enable every child to flourish within a caring, stimulating and purposeful atmosphere; fully prepared for their next stage of life and learning.

We know that at primary school, the quality of teaching affects both children’s social behaviour and intellectual development. This age and stage of learning has a more powerful impact on children’s academic progress than any other educational sector. Home too has a vital part to play! Recognised through extensive research, it is the importance of early experiences and the powerful partnership of home, pre-school and primary school that set the foundations enabling our children and pupils to succeed.

Unlike other MATs, we don’t enforce a curriculum for all our schools to follow. Instead, we support each individual school to offer a programme that enables our students to deepen their knowledge, develop their skills, spark their imagination and fire their curiosity.

Our schools span from Birmingham to Bury, supporting students from all walks of life, regardless of background or socioeconomic status. This helps ensure all children have access to high-quality education and are treated equally.

Shaw Education Trust offers the following employee benefits for our Support and Teaching Staff:

* Support Staff only: Full-time work, generous holiday entitlement starting from 37 days (rising to 39 days after 5 years’ service, including Bank Holidays)
* Electric Car Scheme: Environmentally friendly vehicles
* Access to Medicash Health & Wellbeing Plan
* Discount Scheme for Teachers and Support Staff
* Free Eye Tests
* Cycle to Work Scheme
* Opportunities for professional growth through our Institute of Education and the Trust’s initiatives

We know our people are key to our success, and we’re committed to providing a rewarding employment experience at Shaw Education Trust.

Working Hours: 16.25 hours per week – 38 weeks plus 5 Inset days, totaling 39 weeks (preferably Tuesday, Wednesday, and half a day Thursday).

Moorhill Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers must share this commitment.

This position is subject to vetting procedures including online checks and a criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), which requires disclosure of all criminal records, including spent and unspent convictions and warnings.

All shortlisted candidates will undergo an online search as part of safer recruitment practices.

We reserve the right to appoint before the closing date as applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Early applications are encouraged.

We are an Equal Opportunities employer and are committed to fair recruitment practices.

CVs alone will not be accepted; all applications must follow our application process.

Successful candidates will undergo a fully Enhanced DBS check and other relevant employment checks.
