About the Practice
A well-established and growing accountancy firm with a strong track record of organic growth is seeking to expand its team. With ambitious plans to acquire additional firms in the North, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business entering a new phase of development.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant who has 7-10 years of experience to support the continued growth of the practice. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong practice background who can hit the ground running and take ownership of a varied client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
. Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of industries
. Preparing statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax returns
. Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance
. Supporting and mentoring junior team members
. Liaising directly with clients, providing advice and maintaining strong relationships
. Assisting with onboarding new clients and integrating acquisitions
. Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
Skills & Qualifications required
. ACA / ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
. Proven experience working within an accountancy practice environment is essential
. Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, and tax compliance
. Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software, including
o Xero
o QuickBooks
o Sage
o FreeAgent
* Full UK Vehicle License
. Excellent client-facing and communication skills
. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
. Experience reviewing junior staff work and providing constructive feedback.
. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small tea
