Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Principal Planning Officer to join our Development Management team in Pembrokeshire. This role is integral to delivering effective planning services, ensuring developments are appropriate, sustainable, and compliant with environmental and policy frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge in planning processes, strong leadership capabilities, and an ability to manage complex applications and proposals.
Responsibilities:
* Process a broad range of planning applications, with a focus on large-scale and complex proposals.
* Provide comprehensive reports on both delegated and non-delegated planning applications.
* Exercise delegated authority to determine specific categories of planning applications.
* Offer statutory and non-statutory pre-application advice, especially for complex proposals.
* Mentor and support colleagues by sharing expertise and assisting in knowledge development.
Qualifications:
* Degree or professional qualification in Town and Country Planning.
Requirements:
* Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
* Substantial experience in development management, including specialist areas.
* Strong knowledge of planning legislation, policy, and current planning issues.
* Valid UK driving licence and access to transport.
