An exciting Band 6 role has arisen within Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join our expanding Stroke Service to work at Maidstone & Sevenoaks Hospital and in the community setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and to gain specialist clinical skills, support and supervise others and participate in service development.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be able to work in a fast-paced and busy environment, have excellent communication skills and have experience in an acute hospital setting. You will have the opportunity to work within the acute setting on the newly built HASU and ASU, as well as the rehabilitation pathway in the community and at Sevenoaks.

Qualifications
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational therapy
* HCPC Registration
* Evidence of CPD
* Member of Professional Body
* Member of special interest group
Experience/Knowledge
* Post qualification experience with experience in an acute physical setting
* Evidence of personal and professional development
* Experience of working as part of an occupational therapy team and/or multi‑disciplinary team
* Experience of working with support workers
* An understanding of common neurological conditions
* In depth knowledge of stroke.
* Application of OT theory in the treatment of medical, orthopaedic and neurological conditions in an inpatient setting
* Experience of acute in patient treatment
* Experience within acute stroke.
* Supervision of junior staff and students
* Knowledge of SSNAP
Skills
* Ability to manage own caseload
* Experience and commitment to multi‑disciplinary working
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
