We are looking for an experienced Sound Technician to program & operate as the No.3 / Radio Mic Technician position on Wendy & Peter Pan & Twelfth Night at the Barbican, London, with supervisory responsibility and to participate in the management of the Department. To assist and deputise for the No. 2 sound and work with members of the department in ensuring that effective and efficient technical support is in place for all productions.
Reporting to the Head of Sound, your responsibilities will include (please see the job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):
* Operating and plotting sound for shows on Digico SDt & Axiant sound desks.
* Helping with fault-finding, repair, and maintenance of sound equipment.
* To deputise for the No.2 as appropriate.
* Complying with RSC health and safety policies.
* Ensure up-to-date archive & show backups are kept.
The right person for this role will have:
* Working knowledge and understanding of sound and communications in a theatre environment
* An understanding and familiarity of Digico SDt & Axiant software
* Good team leadership and supervisory skills with clear thought and instruction.
* Good communication and teamworking skills
This role is offered as a full-time, fixed term contract from 6 October 2025 until 18 January 2026, working 48 hours per week average, typically worked 6 out of 7 days, Monday to Sunday, based at the Barbican in London.
