The group employs over 1, people with 16 sales offices in the UK, and the Republic of Ireland, plus European teams in France, Belgium and the Netherlands and internationally in Cape Town Hong Kong, China, India and the UAE.
We are looking for
A Financial Accountant to take ownership of producing monthly financial accounts for each of our overseas entities and delivering accurate, fully supported financial information for all balance sheet categories for inclusion in the Group Accounts each month. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our international financial operations, aligning with the company’s values, and contributing to the efficient and effective functioning of the Finance team.
What you will be doing:
1. Produce monthly financial reports and balance sheet reconciliations for all overseas entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and full third-party support.
2. Manage monthly inter-company reconciliations and support transfer pricing requirements across overseas operations.
3. Prepare VAT returns using Leonardo, coordinating with overseas agents to ensure timely submissions, payments, and refunds.
4. Support external audits by preparing statutory accounts, providing required documentation, and guiding auditors efficiently.
5. Provide technical support to the Junior Accountant and contribute to wider finance projects as needed.
6. Uphold and promote our company values “Our Approach to Business” in all aspects of your work.
Our Ideal Person:
7. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field, plus a recognised professional qualification (e.g., ACCA).
8. Strong experience in financial accounting and reporting, including preparing financial statements and VAT returns.
9. Solid understanding of VAT regulations, auditing processes, and the ability to support external audits efficiently.
10. Proficient in accounting software and data extraction, with advanced Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
11. Strong communication skills for working with overseas agents, auditors, and internal teams.
12. Able to support junior staff, collaborate effectively, and contribute to finance projects as required.
13. Adaptable, deadline-driven, and committed to continuous learning, integrity, and the company’s values.
14. Experience in multinational environments or working with overseas entities is advantageous.
15. Experience with Belgian GAAP is highly desirable.
