About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Carpenter to join their responsive repairs and maintenance team, delivering high-quality work in occupied and void properties. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in their craft, particularly within the social housing sector.
You'll carry out a wide range of carpentry tasks, including planned and reactive maintenance, minor joinery, and installation work. From fitting kitchens and doors to external fencing and UPVC repairs, no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
1. Complete 1st and 2nd fix carpentry tasks in residential properties
2. Install and maintain windows, internal/external doors, and frames
3. Carry out kitchen fitting and general joinery tasks
4. Perform locksmith work, including lock snapping, drilling, and picking
5. Install and repair various types of fencing (feather edge, chain link, panels)
6. Conduct UPVC installations and servicing
7. Accurately record job progress via mobile working tools or job sheets
8. Work independently and efficiently within agreed timeframes
9. Liaise professionally with tenants, colleagues, and other trades
10. Participate in out-of-hours emergency callouts as required
What We're Looking For
11. Proven experience as a Carpenter or Multi-Trade Operative in maintenance
12. Strong skills in both 1st fix and 2nd fix carpentry
13. Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical drawings
14. Experience working in occupied homes and a good understanding of customer care
15. Comfortable working independently and using a mobile device to update job progress
16. Valid UK driving licence (essential)
17. Experience in the social housing sector (desirable)
