As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we invest in our people across Avara Foods. We are seeking a highly competent and motivated HR Advisor to join our HR Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity, based at our Brackley site.
The role is office-based, working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment that is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf-life products where hygiene standards are critical. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00, with flexibility required to support our twilight colleagues.
What will you be doing as a HR Advisor at Avara?
You will ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective HR service to all stakeholders, providing comprehensive and professional support on all people-related issues in line with policies, processes, and legal requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing advice on ER matters and conducting investigations, grievances, and disciplinary hearings in line with company policies.
* Guiding managers on Absence Policy and Procedures and supporting review meetings.
* Managing long-term absence cases, including referrals to Occupational Health.
* Managing maternity, paternity, adoption, and flexible working cases.
* Processing new starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
* Supporting probationary review meetings.
* Assisting with ethical audits and HR-related projects.
* Responding to queries via phone and email.
* Conducting exit interviews, analyzing data for trends.
* Supporting recruitment processes and induction programs.
What you’ll need to be successful:
* Up-to-date experience and confidence with Microsoft Office and HR packages.
* Good knowledge of employment law.
* CIPD qualification or working towards it (desirable).
* Experience in manufacturing or fast-paced environments.
* Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
* Drive for performance improvement.
* Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
* Ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
* Experience in conflict resolution.
* High personal integrity, respect, and empathy.
* Unionized environment experience (beneficial but not essential).
