The Opportunity
Our Architectural team has an exciting opportunity for a Part I Architectural Assistant. The office homes approximately 60 people working in Town Planning, Economics, Architecture, Masterplanning, Landscape, Graphic Communications and Sustainability. Based in Victoria Street, we offer a modern, open-plan office environment in Central Bristol, just 5 minutes' walk from Temple Meads train station.
If you are a Part I Architectural Assistant with a passion for good quality place making, and would like to further your professional design experience, we want to hear from you This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with a number of ongoing live projects and widen your professional experience within a supportive and practical environment.
Your Role Will Include
* Preparing designs, hand drawings and illustrations using Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup and Photoshop.
* Contributing to the design process of early-stage planning applications, particularly for residential projects.
* Producing early-stage concept design options to a specific brief as required.
* Preparing baseline site and context analysis, including photographic surveys of sites and their surrounding areas.
* Contributing to meetings and document preparation.
* Maintaining an awareness of compliance requirements for design, legal, statutory and professional requirements.
You Will
* Have a passion for good quality design and an understanding of the design process.
* Be confident in using AutoCAD, Sketchup and Photoshop.
* Have an approach to design that is rooted in good site and context analysis.
* Be able to generate and evaluate multiple solutions to design problems.
* Be able to work with good attention to detail and coordinate multiple sources of information.
* Have strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills to communicate ideas in a clear and engaging way.
* Be willing and enthusiastic towards learning new skills and techniques.
* Have excellent time management skills, particularly in managing your own deadlines.
* Confident numeracy skills.
