Key Details
Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 per annum. Pay scheme: Agenda for change. Working pattern: Full-time.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team in a 12-bed unit (Kentmere Ward) supporting individuals with a range of mental health issues.
* Carry out duties in line with unit operating seven days a week and 24/7 accessibility; contribute to assessments and interventions for service users and their carers.
* Demonstrate understanding of issues contributing to mental health difficulties; promote recovery and person-centered care.
* Engage in staff development and supervision; participate in ongoing lifelong learning and supervision processes.
* Contribute to providing the best possible experience for service users and carers within a challenging inpatient mental health setting.
Qualifications
* Essential: Experience of working with service users with mental health problems or in a caring environment (e.g., nursing home, hospital ward, home care).
* Essential: Demonstrated skills and knowledge gained through work (paid or unpaid) in a care setting; interest in completing NVQ Level III or Higher in Health and Social Care.
* Essential: NVQ Level III or Higher in Health and Social Care or QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.
Knowledge and Experience
* Understanding of issues surrounding mental illness and person-centred recovery.
* Knowledge of duties under the Data Protection Act with regard to patient confidentiality.
* Experience of working as part of a team and with service users with mental health problems (e.g., nursing home, care home, hospital ward, home carer).
