Here, you’ll be immersed in a fully integrated Computer Aided Manufacturing facility, utilizing cutting-edge CNC machining centers for turning, milling, and grinding operations. Your expertise will help us produce customized designs from a variety of materials including steel, copper, brass, aluminum, and bronze.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Skilled CNC Operator, you will:
* Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements and specifications.
* Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system.
* Interpret work instructions and select the proper tooling for operations.
* Calculate feeds and speeds for various materials.
* Edit or write complete programs as needed.
* Perform quality inspections and apply Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
* Visually inspect final components and prepare them for shipment.
* Utilize precision measuring instruments for dimensional verification.
What You Bring to the Table
We’re looking for candidates who have:
* A time-served apprenticeship in a machining discipline or an SVQ/NVQ level 3 or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience operating CNC machine tools in a lean-manufacturing environment.
* Established milling experience with multi-axis machine tools or experience with Rotary Table Grinders, CNC Table Grinders, or 5 Axis CNC Grinders.
* Familiarity with machine control systems such as Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain, or Haas.
* The ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .0025mm.
* Experience with precision inspection equipment like micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
* Ideally, experience in power generation, oil & gas, aerospace, or similar fields.
Working Conditions
We offer a 37-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with permanent employment contracts. Choose between:
* £44,919.62 for a weekly rotating shift pattern of early (6am) and backshifts (2pm).
* £52,452.37 for working on the night shift.
These rates include a shift premium, plus additional benefits such as:
