Junior Electrical Engineering Estimator
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Electrical Engineering Estimator to join the team of our client, Shaw Automation, based at their head office in Ballymena. This is an exciting opportunity to begin or advance your career in estimating.
Key Duties:
* Assist in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for a range of opportunities across the team
* Produce written proposals and compile associated documentation for each bid
* Analyse project requirements, technical drawings, and specifications
* Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes
* Attend site visits alongside in-hours technical specialists
* Liaise with internal teams to refine and support bid preparation
* Support bid administration and ensure tender deadlines are met
Essential Criteria:
* Full UK Drivers licence
* GCSEs A-C in English, Maths, and Science
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Good IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
* Confident communicator with a professional telephone manner
* A can-do attitude and positive approach to a varied role
* Good attention to detail with excellent presentation skills
* Highly organized, motivated, and able to prioritize and plan workload to meet deadlines
Desirable Criteria:
* Qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering)
* Experience or interest in the Electrical sector
* Familiarity with estimating and/or project management software (e.g., Microsoft Projects)
