Gas Service And Breakdown Engineer
Salary/Rate: £52,000 per annum, plus overtime and commission.
Location: SG1, Stevenage, Hertfordshire and surrounding postcode areas.

Job Specification
As a Gas Breakdown / Remedial Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining our reputation for delivering exceptional boiler services. Your responsibilities will include:
* Diagnosing and repairing boiler breakdowns efficiently across our full coverage area.
* Completing remedial work on existing installations to uphold quality standards.
* Applying electrical knowledge, including fault‑finding on 230v controls, wiring heating systems from scratch, and working with smart systems such as Hive.
* Effectively diagnosing and resolving system circulation issues.
* Replacing 2/3‑port valves, pumps, and occasionally TRVs, preferring techniques such as system bungs or depressurisation over full drain‑downs when appropriate.
* Delivering excellent customer service, ensuring satisfaction at every interaction.
* Driving extensively between appointments, with route support provided by our logistics team.
* Offering additional services and works to customers with commission opportunities.
What We Need From You
* A valid and up‑to‑date Gas Safe registration card.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience handling boiler breakdowns / installations.
* A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
* Punctuality, strong organisational skills, and keen attention to detail.
* Exceptional communication skills, a professional appearance, self‑motivation, and a positive attitude.
