Angmering Parish Council is seeking a practical, motivated, and reliable individual to join our team as an Assistant Grounds Person, supporting the maintenance and care of public open spaces, play areas, floral displays, and other community assets across the village. Working alongside our experienced Grounds person, the successful candidate will help ensure Angmering remains a clean, safe, and attractive environment for residents and visitors alike. Key Responsibilities: Grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, and general grounds maintenance Assisting with inspection and basic maintenance of play equipment, BMX Track and Skate Bowl Litter collection and emptying of parish litter bins Upkeep of certain bus stops, benches, noticeboards etc Support for community events and seasonal decorations (e.g., Christmas, Remembrance) Minor repairs and maintenance of street furniture Liaise with other agencies in order to complete jobs and report issues The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work outdoors in all weathers Basic practical or DIY skills Ability to work independently and be proactive, as well as follow instructions A good level of physical fitness Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings for special events Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening or similar A full UK driving licence We Offer: A varied and rewarding role serving the local community Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
