The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and operational management of Sanctuary activities on shift, ensuring consistent standards of animal welfare, hygiene, safety, staff and volunteer practice and procedural compliance across all animal units and site functions. Site Supervisors will work as a co-ordinated supervisory team, providing continuous coverage across the week. Together, they ensure consistency, effective communication and operational continuity through clear handovers, shared standards and collective accountability.
Responsibilities
* The Site Supervisors act as the senior operational authority on site during their respective shifts, overseeing staff, volunteers, contractors, members of the public and operational activity.
Skills and Qualifications
* Significant hands-on experience working in an animal welfare, rescue, sanctuary or similar environment.
* Paid work experience supervising staff, volunteers or teams in an operational setting.
* Strong understanding of animal welfare standards and safe working practices.
* Ability to enforce procedures and maintain consistent operational standards.
* Strong decision-making, leadership and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work a rota across 7 days.
* Qualification in animal care, animal management or welfare (Level 3 or above).
* Experience supervising multi-species environments.
* Full UK driving licence (company vehicle available on site when required).
