Overview
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Painter and Decorator to join our team, primarily working in social housing in the Plymouth area. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and proficiency in various painting techniques. Effective communication with clients and team members is essential. A valid driving license is required and own vehicle, as travel to various job sites is necessary.
This position can be either employed or self-employed.
The pay ranges from £14 to £16 per hour, depending on experience.
Duties
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks.
Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
Select and mix colours to achieve desired effects and ensure consistency.
Communicate with clients on colour schemes and finishes.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, ensuring safety standards are met. (Own tools preferred)
Work efficiently to complete projects within deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Collaborate with other tradespeople when required to ensure seamless project execution.
Experience
Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator or in a similar role is highly required.
Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
Ability to drive and travel to various locations as needed for job assignments.
Familiarity with different painting techniques and materials is essential.
Capability to work independently.
