Job Description:
As a Toolmaker, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping production running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on a wide range of press tools.
Working across a 3-shift pattern, your main tasks will include:
* In-press tooling breakdown support
* Preventative die/tool maintenance
* Die repairs and reconditioning
* Engineering change activities and die modifications
* Welding tasks using TIG, MIG, and ARC methods
* General bench fitting duties
* Tooling commissioning and development
The Toolmaker position is hands-on and fast-paced, ideal for someone with a passion for precision engineering and a strong understanding of press tool mechanics.
Skills & Experience:
To thrive as a Toolmaker in this role, you’ll need:
* A recognised apprenticeship in Engineering or Toolmaking
* ONC, BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant maintenance or engineering discipline
* Strong background in die and tool maintenance
* Hands-on experience with press machinery, machining, and welding
* Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
* Root cause analysis and SOP adherence
