Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

Do you have a strong engineering background and a flair for sales? This is your chance to work with a well-established manufacturer and make a real commercial impact.
We are seeking a proactive and technically minded Sales Engineer to join our client's manufacturing team in Leicester. In this client-facing role, you will develop and manage sales of subcontract sheet metal services, maintaining existing customer relationships and driving new business growth.
This role is ideal for someone with a solid engineering background and sales aptitude to join a reputable manufacturer and advance in a technically engaging, commercially driven position.
Other potential job titles include: Technical Sales, Business Development Executive, Account Manager, Engineering Sales, Field Sales, Sales Manager, or similar.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop new business opportunities through lead generation and outreach
* Act as the main contact for customers, managing accounts and ongoing orders
* Interpret and process engineering drawings for quotations and order processing
* Visit customers across the Midlands and UK-wide
* Coordinate with internal teams on order progress and production queries
* Handle delivery scheduling and updates with clients
* Collaborate with estimators, production, and subcontract draughtsmen
* Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets
* Report directly to the Managing Director
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
* Background in a technical sales role or similar
* Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes (laser cutting, punching, folding, welding)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business software
Salary and Package:
* £40,000-£45,000 per annum
* Performance-related bonus (OTE up to £54k)
* 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
* Company pension scheme
* 39-hour workweek
* Monday – Thursday: 8am-5pm, Friday: Early finish at 1pm
* Annual car allowance
