Are you looking to progress your career in an healthcare environment? We have an exciting opportunity to join the Information Management and Technology department at the University Hospitals of Leicester as a Project Manager.
We seek an experienced Project Manager to support the e‑Hospital agenda. In this role you will work closely with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to deliver a programme of work that digitally enables healthcare provision across our Acute hospital services, the wider Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Community and with partners across the East Midlands.
Must be a car driver/owner or suitable alternative. The use of public transport would not be acceptable for this post.

Main duties of the job
The Project Manager works within a team of eight Project Managers on a wide variety of projects within Digital and Data. Projects typically involve application changes, most notably within the e‑Hospital programme.
The role collaborates with stakeholders within Digital and Data, Clinical Services and external partners and suppliers. The EPR OneDigital programme is a key priority, aimed at transforming the way clinicians work, and has seen successful implementations.
Job responsibilities
* Manage multiple projects within Digital and Data, delivering to defined requirements.
* Ensure seamless delivery across complete care pathways, avoiding silo working and aligning projects retrospectively.
* Apply appropriate project management methodologies, ensuring effective use of funds and resources.
* Maintain governance and documentation arrangements, reporting progress to the project board in a timely manner.
* Manage project funds and report expenditure to relevant boards.
* Collaborate with the Digital and Data PMO, Commercial Lead, Programme Managers and Senior Project Manager for effective controls and assurance.
* Capture benefits during the project so that they can be quantified at closure.
* Consider BAU throughout the project and ensure smooth transition to BAU support upon completion.
* Partner with Digital and Data staff to optimally use operational resources.
* Provide accountability for the project team, fostering an inclusive environment for staff to showcase skills.
* Maintain communication and engagement with stakeholders, removing barriers to change or success.
* Coordinate with other project managers to maximise use of project staff across projects.
* Represent UHL at external regional/national forums related to the National Programme of IT or similar Digital and Data initiatives.
* Advocate for customer interests at programme/project delivery meetings and other forums.
* Engage with and influence the implementation of Digital and Data transformation initiatives and strategy where appropriate.

Analytical and Judgement skills
* Experience in collecting, analysing and forming judgements and recommendations on a wide range of information.
* Experience using personal judgement to determine when to raise risks and issues for resolution.

* Experience in building and managing a wide range of stakeholders.

Experience
* At least 1 year experience in a project management role exposed to clinical and patient administration systems.
* At least 1 year experience as a member of Prince2/Agile Project Boards within the NHS.
* At least 1 year experience working with the NHS.
* Experience managing capital and revenue budgets (> £50k).
* Experience managing complex, sensitive and contentious projects.
* Experience of system procurement, migration, supplier and contract management.
* Experience of business case development.
* Experience of Project Initiation Process.
* Experience of option appraisal work.
* A track record of successfully delivering projects.
* Experience working with clinical and service leaders in a project setting.
* Experience applying Risk Management within an IT environment.
* Experience working with major healthcare system providers within the NHS as a project manager or similar role.
Training and Qualification
* Qualified to degree level with a high proportion of IT content or equivalent skills or experience in NHS Digital and Data/IM&T.
* Qualified Prince2/Agile Practitioner with up‑to‑date accreditation.
* Good working knowledge of Cranfield Benefits Realisation.

* Knowledge of health service and clinical product portfolio, and how systems, processes and people are linked to support hospital services.
