Procurement Advisor Department: Finance Section: Strategic Financial Management Location: Lisburn Are you ready to play a vital role in public sector procurement? Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Advisor to support the delivery of efficient, compliant, and value-for-money procurement and contract management services. This key position within our clients Finance team offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the safety and well-being of communities across Northern Ireland. Key Responsibilities Support the Procurement and Contracts Manager in managing day-to-day procurement and contract activities. Provide expert advice and guidance on public procurement legislation, tendering, and contract management. Liaise with Centres of Procurement Expertise (CoPE), including BSO PaLS and CPD. Assist in the delivery of procurement training, performance monitoring, and reporting. Ensure supplier performance management and contract review processes are effective. Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement systems and reporting. Support invoice clearing and ensure compliance with procurement policies and statutory requirements. Participate in governance, assurance, data handling, and records management in line with GDPR and best practices. Actively contribute to procurement-related audit preparations, FOI responses, and fraud prevention. Promote high-quality service and internal customer support within the finance team. Essential Criteria Applicants must meet one of the following: Hold an HNC (or equivalent) qualification and have at least 2 years' experience in a procurement role within a large complex organisation; OR Have 4 years' experience in a procurement role within a large complex organisation. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate: Strong planning, attention to detail, and delivery of high-quality work. Excellent relationship management and influencing skills. Competency in Microsoft Office and procurement/finance IT systems. Solid knowledge of the procurement lifecycle and public sector procurement legislation. A full, current UK driving licence or access to transport to meet the jobs travel requirements. Desirable: Experience in e-procurement systems and supporting procurement audits or service improvement projects. Why Join Us?
