A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Dietetic Team Leader to join the Nutrition and Dietetic Service in University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. We are starting a programme of transformational change in this service, so it is an exciting time to join us as an agent of change, leading improving quality of care for our patients effective use of our resources and supporting staff wellbeing. Therefore, clinical evidence-based knowledge of dietetics, alongside a passion and commitment to leadership and management, service development and facilitation of learning and practitioner wellbeing is fundamental. You will have compassionate communication skills with a proactive approach to problem solving and implementation of innovative solutions within an evolving dietetics landscape. This ensures a responsive, needs-based approach to holistic patient centred care. The service is aligned to and contributes to a range of regional networks in the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB. If you are a motivated, flexible and forward-thinking band 6 Dietician who is ready to advance their professional and clinical development in a more senior role or a current band 7 dietician wanting to further consolidate their leadership skills we would love to hear from you. We offer clinical and management supervision, access to in-house CPD programmes & access to leadership programmes to support career development. The role is based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and supports colleagues based at Queen Victoria Centre, Morecambe and will require you to travel to other sites and clinic locations. We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay. Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period. This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
