We are recruiting for Survey Assistants to join the Planning and Economy Service. The role involves surveying, data gathering, mapping, and analysis to support various place-based and research projects, primarily focusing on updating Aberdeenshire Council’s Facilities Monitor. This project, conducted biennially, tracks changes in service provision across settlements in Aberdeenshire and enhances access to information for planning and decision-making, including the Local Development Plan.
The ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic, with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities across Aberdeenshire. Support and training will be provided. This position offers valuable insight into the workings of a planning authority and the practical application of the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019, alongside gaining planning experience.
You will collaborate with council officers and contribute to initiatives that positively impact communities and support regional ambitions. Aberdeenshire Council values teamwork, flexibility, and positive communication.
This is a fixed-term position, not exceeding 3 months, with up to 30 hours per week. Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, 11 June 2025. The contract will end no later than 19 September 2025.
