Store Assistant Manager – Chatterton Road
Department: Retail • Salary: £24,980 per annum (£14,571 pro‑rate) • Type: Permanent – Part Time • Hours: 21 hours per week (7‑day rota) • Location: Bromley • Closing date: 11 November 2025
Role Overview
You’ll report to the Store Manager and will take on day‑to‑day responsibilities, including opening and closing duties. You will oversee all areas of the store’s stock journey—from sorting, pricing, and displaying donations to making a sale. You will also lead and supervise a team of volunteers, creating a welcoming environment while ensuring the store runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Open and close the store on a 7‑day rota.
* Manage the stock journey: sorting, pricing, displaying, and selling donations.
* Work collaboratively with the Store Manager and take leadership responsibilities in their absence.
* Supervise and build a positive team culture for a group of volunteer staff.
* Maintain high standards of customer service and visual merchandising.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience in a busy, hands‑on retail environment at pace.
* Excellent customer‑facing skills and a track record of delivering great service.
* Retail experience is desirable but not essential.
* Management or supervisory experience is advantageous.
* Strong people skills with the ability to lead and motivate volunteers.
* Self‑motivated, problem‑solving ability, and composure under pressure.
