End Date: 17th July 2026 (End of Academic Year)

Salary: £93 - £120 per day (PAYE)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the School

This is a thriving and inclusive secondary school in Rochdale, known for its high aspirations and commitment to student wellbeing. The school provides a supportive environment for both staff and pupils, boasting excellent facilities and a dedicated SEND department. Located centrally in Rochdale, it is easily accessible for local practitioners who are passionate about making a difference in a mainstream setting with a diverse student population.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and resilient Teaching Assistant to join the school's support team for the final term of the year. You will work closely with the SENCO to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 who require additional guidance to reach their potential. This role is ideal for an individual who can balance academic support with a firm but empathetic approach to behaviour management.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 1:1 and small group interventions for students with additional learning needs.
* Implement "trigger awareness" strategies to de-escalate challenging situations before they arise.
* Support the delivery of the KS3/KS4 curriculum, helping students to access lesson content and stay on task.
* Maintain detailed records of student progress and contribute to EHCP reviews.
* Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued.

What We Are Looking For

* Experience: Minimum of 6 months' experience working in a UK school setting is essential.
* Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one immediately).
* Local Insight: You should be local to the Rochdale area to ensure reliable attendance.
* Behaviour Management: Strong skills in managing classroom dynamics and a deep understanding of student triggers.
* Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with the KS3 and KS4 National Curriculum is highly advantageous.

Benefits

* Fair Pay: £93-£120 per day, paid via PAYE.
* Stability: A consistent, full-time schedule in a well-regarded local school.
* Professional Growth: Opportunity to work alongside specialist teachers and SENCOs.
* Supportive Team: Join a school that values its support staff as integral members of the teaching community.
