CNC Miller

Our client is a specialised, independently owned engineering company looking for an experienced and capable CNC Miller to join their team. you will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC milling machines. Support will be provided.
Working with Heidenhain controls, you’ll be producing a variety of precision parts, often in low volumes, with a strong emphasis on quality and attention to detail. The right person will be reliable, practical, and happy working in a small team where everyone contributes and supports each other.
The role of CNC Miller will include:
* Set up, operate and program CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, job cards, and manufacturing instructions before starting work.
* Load and adjust CNC programs in line with production procedures.
* Understand and manage machine parameters such as speeds, and feeds.
* Select and fit appropriate work holding and cutting tools for each job.
* Carry out in-process checks using standard measuring tools to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Conduct basic maintenance on machines to ensure smooth operation.
* Work to expected cycle times while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Skills and Experience Required for CNC Miller include:
* Confident reading technical drawings and working from verbal instructions.
* Familiarity with Heidenhain CNC controls - highly desirable
* Understanding of milling techniques and general machining principles.
* Experience selecting and using appropriate tooling for different materials.
* Comfortable using measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) and performing dimensional checks.
* Awareness of quality control processes and working to set standards.
* Practical, self-motivated, and able to manage your workload with minimal supervision.
