Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified candidate to join our team as a Supply Chain Area Manager based at Bridgend Regional Warehouse. The successful candidate will support the Regional Supply Chain Manager to help develop and implement services in relation to Warehousing. The post holder will be responsible for the management of staff working within Bridgend Regional Warehouse. The role is an integral part of the wider NHS and reliant on good engagement and relationships with others is essential. The post holder will be expected to work at any of the Health Board sites and to fulfil any job allocated, commensurate with the grade. Ability to travel between sites is required. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful applicant will have previous experience working in a similar capacity, specifically Warehousing, Management of staff and stock control. An excellent understanding of Health & Safety is also essential.
Role
* Oversee the day-to-day running of Bridgend Regional Warehouse.
* Manage stock control processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
* Lead, support, and develop warehouse staff, fostering a positive working environment and promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
* Monitor performance and identify opportunities for service improvements and innovation.
* Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners across the NHS network.
* Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained to the highest level.

Qualifications
* Qualified to post graduate Diploma level or equivalent in Supply Chain and Logistics Management or demonstrable experience.
* Specialist knowledge of SCL&T planning/scheduling.
* Managing a busy and diverse department.
Desirable
* Recognised Health & Safety Qualification or demonstrable experience.
Experience
* A good understanding of all legislation relevant to the Warehouse & Supply Chain service.
* Experience in managing issues within the NHS.Detailed knowledge of Transport & Logistics.
Skills
* Logical approach to problem solving, able to identify appropriate route and make decisions within legislation, regulations & Trust procedures.
* Good interpersonal skills, able to establish productive working relations with colleagues, main external contacts, and where necessary, with patients and public.
* Ability to travel between sites.
Desirable Skills
* Flexible approach according to the needs of the department.
* Methodical approach to administrative work.
Applicant requirements
Welsh language skills are desirable.
