As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for the Design & Development of mechanical systems for coding and marking equipment:
* Conduct feasibility studies and test, on new and modified designs.
* Collaborate with colleagues in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
* Provide designs for detailed drawings and manufacturing data.
The role will be based in our Huntingdon office (office and lab-based work).
In this role, a typical day will look like
* Mechanical Engineering theoretical analysis.
* Generating innovative design concepts and solutions
* Detail design of concepts and final product parts using CAD (Solidworks)
* Initiating and evaluating DFMEA, DFM, DFA, etc
* Detail drawing with GD&T of designs, and updating or checking drawings.
* Prototype and testing of designs with detail test plan and report.
* Participate in events such as problem-solving tasks and other project events.
* Working with team members and other departments, including mentoring/supporting Junior Engineers and Technicians.
The essential requirements of the job include:
* Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
* Significant practical experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering
* Experience in CAD, ideally Solidworks, and other engineering tools
* Experience in technical detailing including GD&T
* Theoretical and practical experience in the design and analysis of mechanical components and systems
