A fixed‑term position to support operational management within the Respiratory Medicine and Infectious Diseases services, based at Ealing Hospital. The role is to work closely with the General Manager and Service Manager to oversee outpatient, diagnostic, 2ww and day‑care services and support the management of clinical staff, providing an opportunity to develop management skills including capacity planning, problem solving, negotiation and relationship management.
Responsibilities
* Manage personal workload to meet corporate and personal deadlines.
* Manage staff and delegate appropriate tasks, ensuring competence of staff.
* Undertake capacity and demand exercises to plan and deliver services.
* Investigate and respond to PALS, DATIX and complaints and implement changes.
* Facilitate collaborative working between all stakeholders inside and outside of the Directorate.
* Support development of collaborative partnerships and effective working relationships with clinical staff, managers and MDT, creating an environment where staff can influence service management, planning and development.
* Identify changes required to deliver the service and actively implement these with support of the Service Manager.
* Work with a problem‑solving approach to find solutions to challenges.
* Produce, monitor and deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) and attend meetings as required.
* Robust staff management for admin and clinical staff, including rota, sickness absence and performance management.
* Analyse outcome measures and activity data relating to service performance in 18‑week pathways, 2ww cancer targets, length of stay, elective recovery plan activity and DM01.
