The Role
We are looking for a Sample Prep Technician to support our highly respected and knowledgeable Laboratory team. This position requires someone with good organisational skills who can clearly follow verbal and written instructions. It is a fast-paced environment where you will work alongside a talented team of experts in a friendly, supportive, and innovative setting.
This role offers a salary of £23,481 per annum.

Our RPS Services Division operates from purpose-built laboratories with a long history of providing expert advice and analytical solutions across sectors including pathology, biological, occupational hygiene, environmental, and trace organics. Our laboratories are internationally recognized for solving complex analytical problems in unusual matrices.
Responsibilities
* Prepare samples of crops and foodstuffs for analysis.
* Work as part of a team to achieve goals set by the Laboratory Manager.
* Maintain stock of consumables necessary for daily activities.
* Complete routine laboratory tasks to ensure smooth operation.
* Assist in other areas and perform tasks as directed by the Laboratory Manager.
* Follow health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
* Adhere to and maintain quality documentation according to procedures.
Perform all duties professionally, including wearing appropriate safety/work apparel provided by RPS.
Experience/Skills
* Good time management, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, seeking advice when necessary.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Health and Safety
This role is physically demanding, involving manual handling, including:
* Handling foods, including nuts.
* Working in cold environments.
* Exposure to noise.
* Operating machinery.
