Overview
The post-holder will participate in sessions at both main sites, Royal Stoke University Hospital and the County Hospital, Stafford, and, with other Dermatologists, provide a Dermatology Service for the population of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. This includes all aspects of diagnosis, management and treatment together with ensuring the proper functioning of the department.
The successful applicant will join a current team of 5 including one Consultant and 4 Senior Medical Practitioners, along with a unit of dedicated Dermatology nurses and Clinical Nurse Specialists. The successful applicant will play a part in the Skin MDT and the department has close links to the Oncology and histopathology units; the Consultant and Senior Medical Practitioners are members of the Specialist Skin MDT unit. The team participates in outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and Ward rounds at Royal Stoke and in the new skin department at County, which also includes a minor operating procedure suite.
Responsibilities
* Provide dermatology services across Royal Stoke and County Hospital, including diagnosis, management and treatment.
* Collaborate with a team of 5 including one Consultant and 4 Senior Medical Practitioners, supported by Dermatology nurses and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
* Participate in the Skin MDT and maintain links with Oncology and histopathology units; participate in the Specialist Skin MDT unit.
* Take part in outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and Ward rounds at the two sites; contribute to services in the new skin department and minor operating procedure suite.
